Joe & Kezia | Glasgow Wedding

I can’t tell you how much I loved this wedding.  It was my first time visiting Scotland, and the people were warm and welcoming, and the accents, well…I shouldn’t have to tell you I love a Scottish accent.  There were kilts – so many kilts – and haggis, and a ceilidh (a Gaelic folk dance…kind of like square dancing), and the bride drank whiskey with her dad while she was getting dressed.  Kezia is an artist and Joe is finishing up a PhD in Engineering at Cambridge, and their marriage of such different interests and strengths was – and is – such a pleasure to watch. It’s easy to take good photos of a couple as in love as these two are.

A totally unforgettable weekend.  Lots of love and thanks to Joe & Kezia for letting me be a part of their beautiful day.

Joe & Kezia {Sneak Peek}

Next weekend, I’m doing something awesome:  I’m flying to Glasgow to shoot Joe & Kezia’s Scottish wedding.

I kind of can’t wait.

As part of the build-up, I went out to the English countryside with this sweet couple last week and did a little engagement session.  Here’s a sneaky peek…

I’ll post more next week, just before I jet-set up to Scotland for the Big Day!

I’m Obsessed With ___.

This.

If it was good enough for the Israelites, surely it’s good enough for me.

Be still, Faith.  Be still, be still, be still.

Letters covered in yarn…

…or maps…

…or fabric.

The phrase “Hot Mess.”  Especially when spoken by a girl with a thick southern drawl.  Love it.

This.

When Simon and I first met, he once said to me, “When my trouser leg brushes your trouser leg, I can’t breathe.”  New love is so like that, isn’t it?  The slightest touch takes your breath away, sends tingles down your spine.

In this photo, I see that.  But I also see something else.

Nowadays, Simon’s finger on my arm, his hand on the small of my back, his toes touching mine under the table…they speak of something else.  Something much deeper than spine-tingles.

They speak of safety and of security, and of knowing-ness.

And that’s what I get from this photograph.  So much more than two arms.

“…they’ll just look at us.”

Faith is in love…

…with her husband.

…and with this.

Simon and I never had engagement photos taken before we married in April ’07, because I was here in North Carolina, planning our wedding, and he was in England, preparing us a home.  So, needless to say, I was absolutely delighted for the sweet and talented Ashley Perry to take some pictures of us this week – two and a half years later.

I feel like she really captured us.

More to come soon.  Meanwhile, I’ll be here, drooling over the rest.
