I’m Faith.
I’m from the sticks of North Carolina. I have a serious twang and a penchant for bluegrass music. I also hate bugs and being in the middle of nowhere.
I used to be a big-time magazine editor. Now I’m a wife and a mama, a writer and photographer.
I ain’t rich, but I’s happy.
Mmm. This good-lookin’ man is my husband, Simon. He hails from England, where he grew up eating Marmite and dancing to “the Hokey Cokey.”
He works with the homeless and loves sound.
We got married in 2007, and then came…
This is Adlai. Pronounced “Add-lie.” Two syllables, long i.
He was born in November 2010.
He likes dinosaurs and balls, and he can probably eat more pancakes than you.
We like him alright, I guess.
We live just north of London, but sometimes we say London to sound cooler.
Want to know how a Carolina girl got herself all the way to England?

Hi Faith! So glad to have found your blog! I’m really enjoying it
Cheers!
I’m coming back to read more,,, my garden is calling me and I need to get out there before it is too hot out ! Tempting just to stay in my cozy woman cave and keep reading, Can’t wait to read “How to Rope an Englishman”. I just love hearing other peoples’ love story. Hey, what a great idea to blog about. Thanks!
Does your little boy speak with a British accent?
Hi, Faith! I must say that you have a really gorgeous son. Lucky you! My sister also lives in UK
What a great life ( Y’all ) you, your husband and Adlai have… it’s to the point and helpful to people that need help! More need to follow your example. I’m from the South also…I live in Memphis, Tn. – land of disturbed drivers and Elvis impersonators…I was born in California, raised around St. Louis, Mo. and not in my wildest dreams, did I ever think I would become a ‘Southern Gentleman’ with a Southern accent…my Yankee friends call me on the phone just to hear me talk so they can hear my “Southern” accent…
Hi Faith,
Love your blog. I wish FL beaches had an espresso van, lol. I was one of your silent followers before you were “pressed” and just now speaking up. I am originally from North Dakota and now live in Florida. I am really enjoying the southern living (love hot weather so that helps a lot)! I can see why you miss it, but hey, you get to live in England!!! I’ve nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blog Award. Check out my post at http://www.floraseasons.com.
Tops!
Cheers,
G
